1. 慈善机构;慈善组织
    A charity is an organization which raises money in order to help people who are ill, disabled, or very poor.

    e.g. The National Trust is a registered charity.

2. 慈善(事业)
    If you give money to charity, you give it to one or more charitable organizations. If you do something for charity, you do it in order to raise money for one or more charitable organizations.

3. 赈济(金);施舍(物)
    People who live on charity live on money or goods which other people give them because they are poor.

4. 仁慈;宽厚
    Charity is kindness and understanding towards other people.

    If you say charity begins at home, you mean that people should deal with the needs of people close to them before they think about helping others.
