    If something is inadequate, there is not enough of it or it is not good enough.

    e.g. Supplies of food and medicines are inadequate...

    e.g. The problem goes far beyond inadequate staffing.

2. 不够格的;不能胜任的;不适合的
    If someone feels inadequate, they feel that they do not have the qualities and abilities necessary to do something or to cope with life in general.

    e.g. I still feel inadequate, useless and mixed up...
           我仍然感到自己能力不够,毫无用处,整个儿一团糟。
    e.g. Mary Ann felt painfully inadequate in the crisis.
