1. (人)高尚的，崇高的
    If you say that someone is a noble person, you admire and respect them because they are unselfish and morally good.

    e.g. He was an upright and noble man who was always willing to help in any way he could...
           他是一个正直高尚的人，总是愿意尽其所能帮助他人。
    e.g. I wanted so much to believe he was pure and noble.
           我非常愿意相信他是纯洁高尚的。

2. (想法、目标、行动等)高尚的,崇高的
    If you say that something is a noble idea, goal, or action, you admire it because it is based on high moral principles.

    e.g. He had implicit faith in the noble intentions of the Emperor...
           他对皇帝陛下高尚的动机深信不疑。
    e.g. We'll always justify our actions with noble sounding theories...
           我们总会用听起来非常高尚的理论为我们的行动辩护。

3. 壮观的;宏伟的;卓越的;优质的
    If you describe something as noble, you think that its appearance or quality is very impressive, making it superior to other things of its type.

    e.g. ...the great parks with their noble trees.
           树木参天的大公园
    e.g. ...a noble and pure wine.
           优质纯葡萄酒

4. 贵族的
    Noble means belonging to a high social class and having a title.

    e.g. ...rich and noble families...
           侯门朱户
    e.g. Although he was of noble birth he lived as a poor man.
           虽然他出身贵族，却过着穷人的日子。

5. (旧时的)贵族
    In former times, people who belonged to a high social class and had titles such as 'Baron' or 'Duke' were referred to as nobles .

    e.g. More and more nobles made Moscow their home during Catherine's reign.
           在叶卡捷琳娜大帝统治时期，越来越多的贵族移居莫斯科。
